Osmanthus delavayi

Osmanthus delavayi is a large evergreen shrub with a compact, bushy shape and strongly curved branches. The leaves are dark green, glossy, leathery and ovoid; the underside is lighter in colour, rather grey-green. This false holly flowers from April to May, with abundant, small, white, sweetly scented flowers that appear in clusters. It prefers a position in full sun or half-shadow and does well in almost any soil that is not too wet.
