Echinacea purpurea is a coneflower with an ascending and pole-forming habitus and mid-green narrow, oval and fine-toothed leaves. This coneflower blooms from July to September with pinkish-red flowers around an orange-brown cone. Echinacea likes a pitch in full sun or light shade and does well in any well-drained soil, moderately moist to dry soil.
