Calamagrostis acutiflora 'karl foerster' is a very popular, deciduous, compactly ascending ornamental grass with narrow and stiff grey-green leaves that droop slightly. Calamagrostis blooms from June to August with decorative red-bronze flower spikes, which turn straw-coloured and gold in the autumn.
